Once a degree has been legalized for use with an Apostille, it is legal for use in another country. Global Document Expeditors has over 12 years experience assisting our clients with the retrieval of educational documents in the correct format for apostille.
It is always best to consult with an official of the destination country before undertaking the following procedures:
An authorized official from the records or administrative office of the school attaches a written statement to the document certifying that the document is issued by the school or a true photocopy of a document issued by or on file at the school. The document can either be a Certified Transcript or Diploma.
If you work with the registrar of your school in advance, they may be able to incorporate a notarial certificate into their normal copy certification process and provide you with a notarized original. These notarized originals are always preferable since they are the real document custodian’s signature that is being notarized.
The school official’s statement should include a notarial certificate for completion by the notary when the document is notarized. The original document must be signed in front of a notary public and must contain original signatures. The face of the diploma should not be altered in any way. The registrar or other authority of the school must sign a statement, which is typed on the BACK of the diploma or transcript.
The wording in this statement says that the diploma or transcript is either the original record issued by the school or a copy of the original document issued by the school and the date it was issued certifying its authenticity.
